Our History
In 1967, Shell & Tube, Inc. was founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In mid 1988, Shell & Tube, Inc. (SST) was purchased by John F. Slagle and relocated to a larger, more efficient facility. SST recognized the need for a manufacturing plant closer to the Gulf Coast, therefore opening its Texas plant in Stafford, a suburb 10 miles southwest of Houston, in 1994.
In early 2007, SST was purchased by Steve Blake and Rich Bevins and the company changed its name to Shell & Tube, LLC (S & T). Steve Blake is our President/COO. Before coming to S & T, he was the Vice President of a major tube supplier, which distributes to a large number of heat exchanger companies, as well as other oil & gas related corporations. He has 30+ years of experience with suppliers to the oil & gas industry. Our CEO, Rich Bevins, has over 30 years of extensive management experience and he knows what it takes to maintain a successful business. Once the ownership of Shell & Tube was transferred, John Slagle continued to work alongside the company for several months to ensure a smooth transition. Under the new management, S & T has continued to expand its capabilities with the latest technology and a better-rounded workforce.
We are currently headquartered in Stafford, Texas with our 65,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. In addition, we have a small support office in Tulsa, Oklahoma made up of sales, engineering, and accounting components. Many of our employees have been with Shell & Tube or in the industry for numerous years, which allows us to access vast knowledge from all departmental areas of operation and production.
